ReNerve Limited (ASX:RNV) (“ReNerve” or “the Company”), an Australian biotechnology company developing novel peripheral nerve repair products, is pleased to announce that it has received marketing approval for its NervAlign® Nerve Cuff product in Thailand. ReNerve will now work with its local partner to launch the product in Thailand, which has a total population of over 70 million people and is popular for medical tourism. ReNerve has also recently received an initial stocking order for the NervAlign® Nerve Cuff from its first hospital customer in Hong Kong. This will be an important first use in the region of the product, which is ideal for treating transection, compression, and stump neuroma PNI’s. Commenting on the approval in Thailand, ReNerve CEO, Dr Julian Chick, stated: “The approval in Thailand is another step forward in the development of ReNerve’s operations in Asia and our plans to expand beyond the US. The initial order in Hong Kong is a significant milestone in that market and will serve as a reference for ongoing sales in the region." The NervAlign® Nerve Cuff ReNerve’s NervAlign® Nerve Cuff product is designed for the protection of repaired nerves and the regeneration of nerves during the healing process after PNI. The product is unique as it protects the nerve while healing, but is also naturally absorbed within 6 months, leaving only regenerated repaired tissue. The medical properties of the NervAlign® Nerve Cuff make it appropriate for a range of different types of surgeries including plastic surgery. Thailand is a destination that is known for medical tourism, with plastic surgery being one of the leading reasons that prospective patients travel there. The NervAlign® Nerve Cuff has been used for a broad range of reconstructive and nerve repair surgeries, including where nerve injury has occurred, or where nerve protection and regeneration is required during the healing process.
